Uploading Other Content

To translate content other than uploaded documents (e.g. pasted text or web content), change the selector at the top of the document upload page.

  • Paste Text. With Paste Text, paste contents into a text box to create a translatable document.

  • Crawl URL. With Crawl URL, translate web content. (Explanation will follow).

Translate Pasted Text

To add content to a project by pasting in the text, rather than uploading a document, follow these steps:

  1. Select the radio button next to Paste Text.

  2. Type in a Document Name and optionally scroll to select a translation Priority.

  3. Scroll to select an Import As option. (By default, pasted text will be uploaded as a .txt (plain text) file).

  4. Copy the text you wish to import onto your clipboard, and then paste it into the Paste Content window.

  5. Under Settings, make any adjustments to the project’s default settings for the document(s) uploaded.

  6. When you are ready, click Upload to add the document(s) to the project.

Translate Web Content

Based on your needs, if you wish to translate web content, you may consider using the Crawl URL feature or a website connector.

Translating Web Content

  • If you only wish to translate the text of a website, you may wish to use the Crawl URL tool.

  • If you need to retain formatting and images (i.e. automatically rebuild each page as it is translated), you may wish to add a translation connector to your CMS (Content Management System).

To translate the text of a website,

  1. Select the radio button next to Crawl URL.

  2. Type in the Content URL (the home page for the content you wish to translate).

  3. Under Import Options, choose a Crawl Depth. The Crawl Depth tells Enterprise how much content you wish to translate. If you want to translate just the home page, use Crawl Depth = None. To translate the pages on the main menus, use Crawl Depth = 1. For pages on the sub-menus, use Crawl Depth = 2.

  4. Copy the text you wish to import onto your clipboard and then paste it into the Paste Content window.

  5. Under Settings, make any adjustments to the project’s default settings for the document(s) uploaded.

  6. When you are ready, click Upload to add the document(s) to the project.
