Leverage TM On Demand

Use the Leverage TM action to apply new translation memory to documents within any project. You may want to Leverage TM for an entire project or a group of documents...

  • If the current workflow does not include a Leverage TM phase.

  • If you need to leverage TM from a vault not already used in the default workflow.

  • After the Leverage TM workflow phase is complete.

  • The system creates a new TM Leverage Report each time you choose to Leverage TM. This report displays the percentage of the translation can be completed with TM and is available on each document’s TM Statistics tab.

  • When you Leverage TM, no new TM Units will be created in the 'Save to' vault unless there is a 100% Exact Match leveraged from a Vault other than the 'Save to' vault; and the 'Save to' vault does not already contain a TM unit matching the leveraged 100% Exact Match.

To Leverage TM in a document or project,

  1. Click to open a project from your Projects menu.

  2. Choose to leverage TM for all of the documents within a project, or for only some of the documents within a project.

    1. To leverage TM for all of the documents in a project, open a project and select Leverage TM from the Project Actions menu.

    2. To leverage TM for only select documents within a project, open a project, and check the box(es) next to document(s) requiring a TM leverage.
Then select Leverage TM from the Document Actions menu.

  3. Next, in the dialog, choose which TM vaults to leverage.

    1. Click the checkbox next to Search TM vaults

    2. Choose to search TM Vaults based on the project resources or to specify how vaults are searched manually. If you decide to search manually:

    3. Drag and drop the desired vaults to the right. To remove a TM vault or glossary, simply drag and drop to the left. On the right, prioritize vaults by dragging and dropping up and down.

    4. For each selected TM vault, be sure to choose the Leverage minimum and whether to lock Exact 100% and/or Syntax 100% matches.

      1. Leverage minimum determines which TM matches the match quality for TM matches that are pre-populated to the workbench. We strongly recommend that you do not choose a leverage minimum percentage below 50%. The default percentage is 95%.

      2. Locking the segment forces linguists to take another step to edit the translation. Locked segments can also be propagated through the workflow.

    5. Set vault penalties and penalties for unreviewed TM units.

  4. Complete any other desired fields.

    1. Most fields can be left at their default settings.

    2. If you want to complete extra settings, see the table below.

  5. When you are ready, scroll down and click Leverage TM to save your preferences.

  6. This will run a translation memory leverage in the selected documents.
