New Features

  • Workflow
    • Use the new workflow creation wizard to create and share custom workflow templates that include pre-defined project phases specific to your projects' content type and/or key clients
    • Reduce project setup time by applying workflow templates that are pre-configured to use your preferred settings for projects, documents, phases and pseudo-localization options
    • Add custom phases to your project workflows for tracking administrative and other off-line tasks all from within the Lingotek dashboard
    • Unlike Translate and Review phases in which the phase's progress percentage is systematically set, progress percentage is manually set for Custom phases by the phase's assignee
    • Project managers can determine whether or not a Custom phase's progress percentage should affect calculation of the progress percentages for the document and project
    • Workflow progress of projects can be tracked using real-time dashboards and reports
    • Phase templates have been migrated over to workflow templates
    • Each project must be associated with a workflow template, which is applied to documents added to the project (a workflow template will first need to be selected in order to add documents to projects which were created prior to the release upgrade)
    • Changes to the project's workflow template do not affect documents already added to the project
    • Editing the project's workflow template only affects the project's copy of the template, not the template itself
    • Each document target also uses its own workflow instance
    • Changes to a target's workflow instance only affect that target
    • Phases can be added and removed in bulk using the Actions drop-down selector on either the Documents tab for a project or the Targets tab for documents
  • Rules Engine
    • The new rules engine gives project managers full control over job notification and phase commencement rules within their project workflows
    • Create and manage phase rules which consist of actions (e.g. send notification, start next phase) that are triggered when specific conditions are met
    • Conditions can be either systematically triggered when specific project milestones are met (e.g. translation is 50% complete), or manually triggered when users indicate that they have completed an assigned task
    • Phases that do not include a "start next phase" rule will pause the workflow upon completion of the phase; the workflow must then be restarted by using the Resume button on the Targets tab
    • Phases that do not include a "mark phase complete" rule must be marked complete manually by using the Mark Phase Complete button on either the Targets tab or the Tasks list
    • Phases can also be marked complete in bulk using the Actions drop-down selector on either the Documents tab for a project or the Targets tab for documents
  • Dashboard Improvements
    • The Tasks list (previously known as the Jobs list), now allows users to manually indicated when they have completed an assigned task
    • Users can filter their task list to hide tasks which they have marked complete
    • The rules engine can be used to create phase rules that prevent workflow phases from starting until the previous phase's assignee has marked their task complete
    • Downloads & Processes page provides project managers a single place for tracking the status of Paste MT and TM Analysis processes; and for downloading files that have been prepared from requested exports of TM vaults and glossaries
    • Document setting for allowing translators and reviewers to download the original source text file
    • Added integration support for the Asia Online machine translation service which allows for enabling the MT engine to pre-fill or "paste" MT results into segments (requires a license from Asia Online)
    • Added integration support for the Google Translate (API v2) machine translation service which allows for enabling the MT engine to pre-fill or "paste" MT results into segments (requires a Google Translate API key)
    • Added integration support for the Microsoft Translator (commercial API) machine translation service which allows for enabling the MT engine to pre-fill or "paste" MT results into segments (requires a Windows Azure Marketplace client ID and secret)
    • The .xml and .idml filters now support uploading SRX (Segmentation Rules eXchange) files for defining custom segmentation rules that you want applied at file import
    • When assuming the identity of another user, community administrators that have the Support role can now un-assume the user's identity by simply clicking on the "Un-assume Identity" link just below the user's name and avatar
    • Standardized the look and feel of all reports
    • Paginated tables now include a "displaying x to y of z" results indicator and allow you to navigate directly to any page
  • Workbench Improvements (New & Classic)
    • Added integration support for the Asia Online machine translation service which allows for enabling the MT engine as a translator resource (requires a license from Asia Online)
    • Added integration support for the Google Translate (API v2) machine translation service which allows for enabling the MT engine as a translator resource (requires a Google Translate API key)
    • Added integration support for the Microsoft Translator (commercial API) machine translation service which allows for enabling the MT engine as a translator resource (requires a Windows Azure Marketplace client ID and secret)
    • Closing the workbench when launched by a Lingotek Inside integration now signs-out the user
    • The phase name is now displayed in the workbenches
    • Pausing a phase no longer prevents the project manager from launching the workbench for that phase
  • System Administration Improvements (premise & dedicated cloud installations only)
    • System administrators can now view and manage user roles and permissions without having to first log into the community to which the user belongs
    • When assuming the identity of another user, system administrators can now un-assume the user's identity by simply clicking on the "Un-assume Identity" link just below the user's name and avatar
  • Platform Improvements
    • Speed improvements made to the analyzing and downloading of TM vaults
