Status Types

These are the different statuses available in the TMS. The status of a document, target, and phase will trigger different responses in the workflow and interactions between applications in the TMS. Used properly, they enable automation and powerful functionality in integrations.

Status Reasons

To give Project Managers and Community Admins more insight into activity in the Project Application, users are required to provide reasons when a document, target, or phase enters certain states (see above). For relevant statuses, the reasons given are shown anywhere the status field is present in the Project UI. An info icon appears next to the status, which shows users the status reason when they hover over the icon. There is also a status reason column in the Project Status Report

Status Reason

Canceling vs. Skipping a Phase

Only phases can be Cancelled or Skipped. Documents and Targets can only be cancelled. However, a cancelled Document or Target will have different effects on the phase depending on the phase's status.

Authorized users can open skipped and cancelled phases in the Workbench if they wish to view more details about the phase. They will not be able to make any edits or save segments. Authorized users consist of Project Owners, Shared Project Owners, and Assignees.

  • Canceling a document will cancel every target that has not completed its workflow. Canceling a target will:

    • Skip phases that have not yet been started.

    • Mark every phase that is In Progress as Cancelled.

    • Leave Completed phases as Complete.

Editing Completed Phases

  • You can edit segments in Completed and Late phases as long a translation has not been saved for that segment in a later phase.

  • You cannot edit cancelled and skipped phases since project managers or clients have cancelled/skipped those phases with the intent that they NOT be worked on.

  • If the workflow has been completed, the final phase can be edited and resaved regardless of status. Any callbacks set up on the project will be resent upon saving edits.
