Translator FAQs

The following are some of the most asked questions by translators about Enterprise’s TMS platform:

Which web browsers are compatible with Enterprise software and the Enterprise website?

A: We recommend using the latest stable version of Chrome and Firefox, but we also test the site for compatibility with Internet Explorer 11 and higher. Alternate web browsers may not work correctly.

Where do I go for help?

A: The best way to get assistance is to e-mail us at support@lingotek.com. Any specific information that you are able to provide such as the browser you are using, file/project name, and any screenshots of the issue will help us assist you more quickly.

What are Community Documents?

A: Community Documents are documents that will be listed directly underneath your dashboard. Any user is able to view, translate and review these documents.

I want to review the entire document in the source and/or target language, is that possible?

A: Yes, you can view the entire document as a PDF file. Your Project Manager must enable this feature. Once it has been enabled, the document will have a small PDF icon to the right of the source and target languages on your Dashboard. To download the PDF version of the document, click on this PDF icon.

Is there a shortcut to get to the beginning of a document?

A: You can click on the first segment and it will take you to the start of the document. If the document has multiple pages, you can click on the page icon and navigate to the first page.

What are the different types of Hits on the Resources Tab?

A: There are two types of Translation Memories populating the Hits tab: Automatically Translated Text and Filter Results.

What is "Machine Translated Text"?

A: We use Google Translate or Microsoft Translate Engine to give automated translations for the most common language pairs. These translations are created by a computer, not by human translators, and they may have errors or awkward phrasing.

Where are the Filter Results coming from?

A: These search results come from Translation Memory Vaults. They can be the source and target segments that were translated by other translators in the past, with the most similar sentences at the top. These can also include TM hits that are being used to keep certain words, phrases or product names standard throughout the project. It is also important to note that as you are translating, reviewing, and making changes to the current project, your work updates the TM Vault for the project. Translators and reviewers in that language pair will see hits from your work in the future.

Can I add Dictionary Entries?

A: Yes, you are able to add words to the dictionary.

Can I edit Dictionary Entries?

A: Yes, you are able to edit the dictionary.

Do you have a spell checker?

A: Yes. Click here for help.
