Taking Actions

Single Actions

To take action on a single source or translation:

  1. Select the desired source or translation.

If you select a source or translation in an untracked state it will automatically perform the upload/request action. To see the action drop-down, the source/translation needs to have already been sent to the Enterprise TMS. 

  1. A drop-down will open where you can select your desired action.

Bulk Actions

To take actions on more than one content or translation:

  1. Select the checkboxes at the far left of the row next to the desired source content. To select all content, simply select the checkbox in the column header.

  2. The active content type in the selector will become a drop-down. Select the drop-down.

  3. Select your desired action.

View

Selecting View will open that content in your third-party environment.

This does not work for untracked content.

View Error

Shows you the error code associated with the issue.

This only appears when the content is in the Error status. 

Upload

This sends the source content into the Enterprise TMS. This will happen as soon as you select a source tile. It is only visible in the bulk action menu.

Re-upload

If the source upload has timed out you can re-upload the source for a second try.

Re-upload Source

If the source has been edited, you can re-upload the newest version of the source document. 

Bulk/Single

The document will reference the current Translation Profile settings to determine the new document's project, workflow, and filters. 

When re-uploading the source document, you cannot select a new translation profile. It will use the profile that was selected when the document was originally uploaded.

Refresh

This will refresh the status of your content.

Bulk/Single

To avoid refreshing the entire extension, select the specific content you want to refresh and use the bulk refresh action or select the refresh icon.

Request Translations

This will open the Add Target's modal where you can select any remaining targets permitted by your content's translation profile. This action is also available in bulk.

Choose the Select All option next to the target selector to quickly request all translations. 

Download Translations

This will download all translations in the Ready state. It is the same as Download Completed Translations in the bulk actions drop-down.

Delete All Translations

This will delete the content in your third-party application but only cancel the associated content in the Enterprise TMS.

Cancel All Translations

This will cancel the source "document" in Enterprise TMS along with its translations. Canceled documents will stay in the "Canceled" status until the document is re-uploaded, and are kept in the TMS so a record of the progress and translations can be maintained. This will also break the link between your content in the third-party application and the document in the TMS.

Once you cancel a document and its translations, you can upload that source content again, but it will be a completely new document in Enterprise.

View

View Error

Shows you the error code associated with the issue. 

This only appears when the content is in the Error status. 

Download

Downloads the translation if it is a ready status. It will not download other translations that are in a ready status.

Edit

Selecting Edit will open the Enterprise Workbench where you can make changes to your translations.

The user who selects edit must be a user in the TMS with permission to view that content. 

Refresh

This will refresh the status of your content.

To avoid refreshing the entire extension, select the specific content you want to refresh and use the bulk refresh action or select the refresh icon.

Re-download

This action appears when there was an issue with downloading content. The target will be in an error state and in the drop-down they will be able to try to 

If content refuses to download, then there is likely a duplicate translated content or an issue with the translated content. 

Delete Translation

This will delete the translated content in your third-party application but only cancel the associated target in the Enterprise TMS.

Cancel Translation

This will cancel a target associated with a document in the Enterprise TMS. It keeps a record of the progress made on that target and any other information associated with it. 

The target will stay in "Canceled" status until the entire document is canceled. You will need to cancel the entire document, and then re-upload the source as a new document



Lock/Unlock Target

You can lock and unlock targets in bulk or one at a time. Locking targets prevents them from receiving any more updates from the TMS.

This is useful when you have live, user-facing content in production that you need to remain untouched for a certain period of time.
