To manage by exceptions means that a Project Manager can quickly view targets of documents that are "abnormal." Usually targets of documents that need immediate attention in order to meet deadlines, ensure smooth progress, and meet SLAs. 

The Project Exceptions Dashboard quickly searches through ALL projects in the ENTIRE community that meet any of the exceptions listed in the table below. In order to maintain speed in that search, the Project Exceptions Dashboard only queries targets within specific time frames. The query also ignores any documents with a word count that is equal to 0.

Past Due

The count of incomplete documents where any of the following items are past due within the previous month:

  • The document itself - displays ALL active targets associated with that document. 
  • One or more of the targets - ONLY displays affected active targets
  • One or more phases (only applies to translate, review, and custom steps) - ONLY displays affected active targets
Due date must be set within the previous and next month of the current date. NoNA
Due Within (x) Hours

The count of incomplete documents where any of the following items have a due date which is within the specified number of hours from the current time:

  • The document itself - displays ALL active targets
  • One or more of the targets - ONLY displays affected active targets
  • One or more phases (only applies to translate, review, and custom steps) - ONLY displays affected active targets
Due date must be set within the previous and next month of the current date. YesSpecify the number of hours used to determine when items are at risk. Set up to 7 days (168 hours)
Missing Due Date

The count of incomplete documents where any of the following are missing due dates which is within the specified number of hours from the current time:

  • The document itself - displays ALL active targets
  • One or more of the targets - ONLY displays affected active targets
  • One or more phases (only applies to translate, review, and custom steps) - ONLY displays affected active targets
The document had to be added or updated within the past 14 daysNoNA
Unassigned

The count of incomplete documents where any of its phases are unassigned.

  • Only applies to Custom, Translation, or Review phases.
  • Will display only the affected active targets.
The document has a due date set between the previous and next month.NoNA

The count of targets which were added within the specified number of hours before now.

  • Only displays active targets.
