This page will give you a preview of all the actions that you can take while translating or reviewing translations within the Workbench. This page is tailored towards actions that involve the act of translation, not actions like modifying shortcuts or changing the view of the Workbench. It includes links to additional documentation when more details are necessary.
Workbench actions are not permission-based. If an action is not available to you, please contact your project manager.
Action | Description | New RAY Enterprise Shortcut |
---|---|---|
Add Glossary Entry | This allows you to add the highlighted word or phrase as a Glossary Entry. Note that you may only add glossary entries to a glossary that allows linguists to add Glossary Entries. When adding a glossary entry you must select a glossary, the source word or phrase and the target word or phrase. | Ctrl+F2 |
Add Note | This action will add a note on the segment you are currently working on. It will be visible to all other users with access to your task and any other tasks on that target. | Alt+N |
Apply Format Tag | This will take all the tags from the source segment and apply them to the target segment. Please note that this will most likely NOT apply the tags in the correct location in the target segment and you must take the time to arrange them as necessary. | Alt+Shift+Insert |
Approve all Segments | This will approve all the segments in the reviewer's task. This is ONLY recommended when the reviewer has gone through each segment to make sure it has been translated correctly. You can choose whether or not to add the approved segments to Translation Memory and to apply format tags. Automatically applying format tags IS NOT RECOMMENDED. | Alt+A |
Auto Format Segment | This will attempt to add the tags in roughly the correct spot in the target segment. This works best if you already have a translation entered in the segment. It is still not 100% accurate and we recommend that you take the time to review where the tags were placed. | Ctrl+Shift+A |
