Adding Multilingual Sites (MindTouch)

Now you can host multilingual content on a single site. To do this, simply log into MindTouch and create a new category called "Languages." Then create a subcategory for each target language (e.g. "French" and "German").

Create Target URLs

After creating these categories, go into the connector's Settings page and create a Target URL for each target language. (Explained below). Once these settings are enabled, all translations completed via the connector can be accessed from the newly created categories and Target URLs.

A Target URL is the URL a client will use to access the international version of your MindTouch site. You will need to create one target URL for each desired target language.

Be sure to enable all target languages before creating target URLs.

To create a Target URL,

  1. Log into the connector.
    1. Open a browser and open two tabs. On each tab,
      1. Log into MindTouch.
      2. Log into Lingotek.

  2. Open the connector's Administration portal.

    1. Click to open the Lingotek Translation browser extension.
    2. Open the side menu.
    3. Select the gear icon.
    4. Click to open the MindTouch Administration portal.

  3. From the Administration portal, switch to the Settings tab.
    1. On the left, select MindTouch.
    2. Then open the Settings tab.

  4. Under Target URLs, create the target URL for each language.

    1. Copy the original site URL and append the target language.

      Examples

The format and spelling of this URL is not important. What is important is that the name clearly reflects which target language is being used.

If the source site is: yoursite.mindtouch.com

The Target URL for could be:

(tick)Tip: Multilingual content will automatically map to the URL entered here.
(tick)Tip: When creating the Target URL, you can append any text to the original URL.

  5. When you are ready, click Save Settings.

Now you are ready to translate! Translations will be saved under the designated languages and categories.
