This document outlines the capabilities and limitations of Enterprise's XLIFF 1.2 filter configuration.

We Support Most of the XLIFF 1.2 Specification

The Enterprise XLIFF 1.2 filter configuration supports the majority of the XLIFF 1.2 specification; however, there are a few items we do not support, as outlined below.


Filter Configuration Limitations

  1. Content of the <sub> element is currently not supported as text.
     
  2. The current Enterprise importer only stores inline tags (with ctype attribute values) and notes from trans-units. 
     
  3. Units with translate="no" will still be imported, but locked in the workbench.


Enhancements Beyond the XLIFF 1.2 Specification

  2. The config option simplifyTags.b=true directs the system to not simplify inline codes. Otherwise ending and trailing codes are trimmed and any consecutive codes are merged to simplify the presentation to the translator.
