Getting Started (Marketo)

Once you have created a Lingotek  project and workflow and created a LaunchPoint service in Marketo, you will be ready to connect your Marketo and Lingotek accounts.

Adding the Lingotek Extension 

First, add the Lingotek + Marketo Extension.

  1. Open Google Chrome. Then click here or follow the instructions below to add the extension.
    1. Click the menu icon (to the right of the address bar).



    2. Choose Settings > Extensions > Get more extensions.
    3. Search for Lingotek Inside Marketo, and then click Add to Chrome.


Connecting Accounts

Once you’ve installed the Lingotek Inside extension, you will be ready to connect Marketo with Lingotek’s translation management system.

  1. Open Google Chrome, and open two tabs.
    1. In one tab, log into Lingotek.
    2. In the other tab, log into Marketo.
       
  2. After logging in, click to open the Lingotek Inside icon.



  3. In the dialog, click Connect. This will connect the two open accounts. 

    (tick)Tip: You may be required to re-enter your Lingotek/Marketo credentials:
    1. Click Login.
    2. Enter your Lingotek credentials.

Synching Accounts

After connecting your app and the Lingotek translation management system, authorize Lingotek and Marketo to work together. Synching your accounts allows Lingotek to send your content to translators. 
It also allows Lingotek to track status for each translated item. 

  1. In the next screen, click Allow to authorize Lingotek and Marketo to work together.


     
  2. Once the accounts are connected, if needed, enter your Lingotek credentials.
    (tick) Tip: These fields may already be filled in (based on your login)


     
  3. Scroll to select the Lingotek Community that will handle the translations for your Marketo content.
     
  4. Save your work.

Choose Settings

Once the accounts are connected, choose how to handle published translations (and other Lingotek settings).  

  1. Go to the upper right and click to open the Marketo + Lingotek browser extension.



  2. Then click the Marketo icon.

Authenticating with Marketo

In the next screen, you will be able to enter your Marketo credentials.
 


These credentials can be copied and pasted from information provided under Marketo's Integration tab. Find the information you need under LaunchPoint and  Web Services. 


Copy and Paste

We recommend copying and pasting these items into a text document and then pasting them into the corresponding field on the Lingotek connector page.


Start compiling each item from Marketo's Integration page (instructions below). This information was generated when creating the Launch Point Service. If you have not created a Launch Point Service, /wiki/spaces/DDOC/pages/26738776.

      
      Find "Authorized User, Client ID, Client Secret"
 

First, find the Launch Point Service's Authorized User, Client ID and Secret. To find these items, 

  1. Login to Marketo as an administrator.
     
  2. On the left, expand Integration and select Launch Point.
     
  3. On the right, next to the Launch Point service (created earlier), click View Details.
     
  4. In the window, copy the following fields to your clip board. Store them in a file where it will be easy to copy and paste them later.
    1. Client Id
    2. Client Secret
    3. Authorized User
       
       
    Find "Marketo Login URL" and the "Marketo Rest API URL"
     
  5. Next, you will need to copy two URLs: The Marketo Login URL and the Marketo Rest API URL.

    (tick) Tip: Find and copy these items into a file where it will be easy to copy and paste them later.

    See below for instructions.

    1. Copy the Marketo Login URL. The Marketo Login URL is the URL you use to log into Marketo. 
      (tick) e.g. https://yourcompany.marketo.com 

    2. Copy the Marketo Rest API URL.To find the Marketo Rest API URL
      1. Login to Marketo as an administrator.
      2. On the left, expand Integration and select Web Services.
      3. Scroll down to REST API.
      4. Under Endpoint, copy the URL. 



    1. Once you have compiled all the copied items into a file, paste each item into its corresponding field on the Lingotek connector page:



    2. When you are ready, click Authenticate.
       

The two accounts are connected. Now that the accounts are connected, you will be ready to send Marketo content to Lingotek for translation.
