FAQs (Oracle)

Can I edit translations in Oracle WebCenter Sites?
No. Editing translations must be done in Enterprise. This ensures that there is no conflict due to simultaneous edits on both system, or conflicting edits on a single system. Enterprise is a translation platform, and it is the best platform for editing content requiring translation. In-context editing of translated content is not currently supported in this integration.

How can I prevent edits for assets that originate in Enterprise?
You can add them to a dedicated workflow that has function privileges that lock the asset into an un-editable state. For more information, consult the Oracle WebCenter Sites administration guide.

Why can I not set the Enterprise workflow for some of my assets?
Once an asset has been sent to Enterprise for translation, it is assigned to a project and workflow. If you try to add a new translation to an asset, you cannot alter the workflow or project with which it is associated. The source asset and its translations must all be in the same project and workflow (though the translations can be in different phases (states) of the workflow). Conversely, in WebCenter Sites, an asset and its translations can reside in entirely different workflows. Thus, to prevent confusion, Enterprise Inside Sites prevents users from setting Enterprise workflows for assets that are already set up with one.
